Sahara Hot Boxes are used by processing companies that need to melt or reduce the viscosity of solid/thick materials, stored in drums and totes. Any company that needs to pump or pour material from drums or totes is a potential candidate. This includes food products such as honey and food grade waxes and oils.

Sahara Hot Boxes are sized to accommodate from 1 - 40 (55 gallon) drums on pallets or 1-10 totes. We often custom build our Hot Boxes to suit our client's needs.

The overall height of the Hot Box varies depending on the drum/tote capacities. Generally, single level models are 85” high or less and double level or stacked models are 120” high or less.

Custom sizing is always available to accommodate our customer's height restrictions. Simply let us know what you need.

Electrically Heated Hot Boxes operate up to 300° F.  A high temperature package is also available to achieve temperatures of up to 500° F.

The maximum operating temperature that a Steam Heated Hot Box can reach depends on the steam pressure introduced to the steam coil.  At 200 PSIG, an operating temperature of 288° F can easily be achieved.

Sahara Hot Boxes by Benko Products are designed specifically to heat drums and/or totes. They have some unique features that are typically not found on other industrial ovens. Features like Spill Containment Pans, Special Airflow Provisions and Access Doors or Ports for pumping material from drums/totes while they are heating, are just a few examples.

Drum heating ovens are generally designed for lower temperatures and require less temperature uniformity than other types of industrial ovens.

Our Drum Ovens are basically plug and play and generally do not require a contractor to install. Simply anchor the oven to level ground and connect it to the utilities.

Yes. Benko Products typically paints its Sahara Hot Boxes a machine blue/gray color. However, custom color requests are welcome. Just tell us what you need. Stainless steel finishes are also available, often recommended for those processing foods products.
